SERVICES

Every person, family, nonprofit and business has a story to tell. Telling it well is what helps you connect with your audience and ultimately makes them feel something. For businesses, this can be the difference between making a sale or not. For nonprofits, this can be the difference between getting a donation or not; and for families, this is the difference between holding on to a memory and letting it fade.

Stories are worth telling, and more so, saving. I’m here to help you flesh out your story and tell it in a way that audiences around the world can watch and remember. I am available to help tell any story, but I specialize in helping you tell the following kinds of stories visually:

PERSONAL BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY

It’s no secret: photos and images resonate with people much more than words ever will. Having a library of great images and headshots for social media and marketing can transform how people see and remember your business or nonprofit. I’ll work closely with you to determine the images that will best represent you or your product and help you tell your story visually through great business photos.

With a personal brand photography session, we’ll take compelling shots of everything from you in action to your team photos and headshots. We can also work together to tell the story of your products or services through detailed and eye-catching images. I’ll help create the images you need for your social media accounts, websites, and presentations to allow you the freedom to live in the moment and focus on those around you, rather than try to capture it all. NONPROFIT STORYTELLING

One of the biggest passions of my work is to highlight the way in which nonprofits serve others. Nonprofit storytelling allows us to tell this untold story. Done through engaging photos, videos, and interviews with nonprofit staff and people they work with, nonprofit storytelling helps the public, donors, volunteers, and guests understand the impact nonprofits have on our community.

Need help fundraising or explaining how your nonprofit makes a difference? Contact me to learn more about how visual nonprofit storytelling can help detail the important work your nonprofit is doing and how others can get involved.

BUSINESS STORYTELLING

Businesses big and small now have tons of (free) outlets to sell their products or market their services, but this doesn’t mean it’s easy or productive. The ability to capture an audience and really connect with a customer is a true art form.

I help businesses of all sizes convey your message and truly buy into your brand through visual storytelling. Together, we’ll set your business apart from the rest and sell your brand in a way that you’d never be able to do with just photos or text alone. I’ll provide you with the kinds of storytelling videos and photography that truly get at the heart of why you do what you do and how you are uniquely able to meet customers’ needs. Contact me to learn more about my business storytelling services and how we can begin to describe your business in a captivating way.

I’ll come alongside you and your team to professionally capture the photos you need for your email marketing campaigns, social media accounts, websites, and presentations to allow you to live in the moment and focus on what’s important—without trying to capture it all.

documentary family photography

Telling the story of families is one of the most important projects I work on and one of my personal passions, as there is no story more important than where we started and the people who love us best. All families are unique, and all families certainly have a story to tell.

During our documentary family photography session I’ll join your family at your home or out and about to capture photographs that preserve your current season of life. I’ll document a normal day or partial day with your family, freezing time for just a moment, preserving memories of true life for generations to come.

When we work together, our session will be unposed. I will photograph your family as you naturally operate with one another to give you truly unobstructed visual memories of your time together. During our lifestyle shoot, I will just be a fly on the wall, capturing your family as you really are. Our documentary family photography session will result in family photos to give you a real glimpse into your life, not the posed and somewhat stressful traditional family photos you may be accustomed to. Contact me to learn more about capturing your family during a family photojournalism, documentary family photography, session.

VIDEO storytelling

Video is key for online engagement. People really connect with people when they share their passions and why they do what they do. I can help you determine video topics, develop interview questions, and shoot compelling footage to make an authentic, documentary video that makes your audience feel like they know you.

I know it can be nerve-wracking to be on camera. I understand how to be a calming presence and guide the interview to help you be yourself.

SOMETHING ELSE?

Have a visual story to tell but it doesn’t fit nicely into one of these categories? No problem! Contact me—I’d love to hear your story and see if we’re a good fit for one another!

We recently worked with Valerie on a video for a community luncheon, which was a fundraiser. Valerie was professional and a joy to work with. She was able to interview possible candidates for the video and pick the best ones for the message we wanted to convey. Her turnaround time, with requests during editing, was fast and efficient, making this a stress-free project. Thanks, Valerie!
